I've Been Away for Awhile

I've been quite remiss in posting. I'm sorry for anyone that's been following. So here's an update on everything that has been happening so far. PB will be 8 months on the 11th of this month. Her grandpa was here for her rolling over for the first time. What an amazing milestone! She had her first plane ride in March when we went to Texas to meet the Greats. She did way better than I did on the flight. I personally hate flying. I know I have no say over dying but a plane crash is NOT how I want to go out. Drowning is #1 on my list. As a first time mom and brand new to flying with an infant I took WAY too much stuff with me on the flight. In the future I'll know all I need is diapers, wipes, baby carrier, nursing cover, and ONE toy. I also brought a change of clothes for PB and a shirt for myself, just in case. Now if you're not breastfeeding you'll need formula and water. Yes, you can take water with you if you have small children. Make sure to check with the company your flying with to know all their specific rules. Also, remember to bag EVERYTHING. You do not want to be holding a wiggling child as your purse or diaper bag is searched. I know this for a fact. What a pain in the ass. I also did baby wearing for the first time. I personally hate it but it's a necessary evil if you get stuck flying alone or having to walk a long way. Both Detroit and DFW are huge airports so I made a point of strapping her on. Last month PB went from sitting up in her crib to standing in her crib in just 10 days! I never understood the saying "they grow too fast". Well they do. Once they hit a milestone they'll hit the next one before you can fully appreciate the last one. Also, we have a tooth! I couldn't figure out why she was such a crab then, bam!, a tooth starts popping through. She's a pretty good kid overall but teething turned her into a bad dream. We're well into solid food. She's a bit picky but it seems like she only hates bad food. Hopefully this means we won't have a junk food junkie. I'm also working on weaning her to formula. I'm ready to be done breastfeeding. A Quick Update

Well, it's been awhile but I'm really trying to learn as much as possible about this whole network marketing thing and how to balance it with being a mom and wife. I give myself a B-/C+. My house is a little more messy but PB and the Texan don't seem to be any worse for wear. PB is such a joy to be around so if I do have time to get any form of work done she is distracting me with how fast she is growing. Yesterday Princess Peanut Butter stood up out of her little chair and took four tiny steps before she sat down on the floor! I had tears in my eyes as I watched this little miracle unfold. She amazes me constantly. She says mama, dada, and something that sounds like my dog. She has completely weaned herself from breast feeding, which is a bit bitter sweet. Late Night Rambles

I don't sleep well at night. Maybe it has something to do with me not being able to get up in the morning or maybe I can't get up in the morning because I don't sleep well at night. I usually go to bed with him but I can never seem to go to sleep. I always seem to lay awake listening to him snore. Man, he seems to sleep so soundly and goes to sleep so effortlessly. I laid beside him tonight after I had taken a long hot shower until I knew for sure he was sound asleep. I wanted to write. I wanted a cigarette. I wanted another drink. When I got out of bed I checked on the little one then put on the clothes I was wearing earlier. Honestly, I've been wearing them for a couple days. They're pretty dirty but I just don't care sometimes. I need to do laundry tomorrow. I miss my washer and dryer. I could be doing laundry right now instead of having to wait until everything fits perfectly into a schedule. I hear my neighbors running up the stairs in the apartment behind...

It's Called Foreshadowing For A Reason

As I've said before, Johnny and I ended up at my brother's at the same time last year. While chatting with Granny earlier today a story popped into my head I haven't thought of in quite awhile. A little background info, if you will: My brother and Wife have a little boy, Zeke, and this little boy loves his Uncle Johnny. Uncle Johnny has been uncle for way longer than we've been together. I like to joke that I had to marry back into my own family and the only way to do that was marry Johnny. It is quite interesting to go to the bar with my brother because he always introduces Johnny first as his brother, then me as his sister, then Johnny and I as married. And on to my tale: When I first saw Johnny play with Zeke the thought popped in my head about how wonderful he would be with his own children.
